Statement
Rammed earth taken from the site itself, laid in horizontal bands that read the geology of the valley. The building is the colour of the ground it stands on.
Design approach
Low, long, and broken into pavilions so the landscape passes between them. Guests walk outside between every room — the arrival is part of the architecture.

Environment
Earth walls provide a full thermal lag cycle, eliminating daytime cooling. All aggregate was excavated within 400 metres of the building.
